I'm looking at a small to medium sized town. Price and shopping is not very important to me but friendliness, outdoor activities, and "good vibes" are. I have children so good schools and good kids would also be important. I'm sorry if this is vague but I want good towns that I can start researching. Thank you in advance!!
Yes, you are being far too vague. More information from you is required.
"Small to medium" sized town is meaningless as there are over 3,000 small to medium sized towns in Canada and the majority of them would meet all of your criteria. You need to be more specific about what size population you have in mind and what part of the country and natural environment and climate you prefer. It would also be helpful if you said where you would be moving away from and what kind of society and climate you are presently adapted to.
To give you an idea of what I'm getting at, I could recommend a very nice, friendly small town in the Arctic that would meet the criteria that you've listed, but do you want to live in the Arctic?
Ok then. I'm looking at British Columbia and by small town I mean a nice community with families not necessarily small in population.
Well that narrows it down to one province.
BC has 890 communities and the majority of communities in BC are friendly, family oriented and have nice schools. What kind of climate and environment are you looking for? What other important criteria are you looking for?
Awaitingmyescape, the following quoted poster was right about one thing. You can't move to Canada just because you want to, no matter who you are, where you presently live or even if you're incredibly rich. You will have to find out if you meet all the requirements to qualify to live in Canada, and then make your application to the Canadian government. You can find out here if you and your family would qualify to move to Canada: Citizenship and Immigration Canada

The OP has declined to say what their country or citizenship is so it's probably not a good idea for you to jump to conclusions about their nationality. Unless of course the OP is another one of your sock puppets (you have already identified yourself as an SP), in which case that's not a good idea either. Technically, because of your comments, you have just caused trouble for the OP and forced the OP to identify theirself and prove that s/he is not one of your sock puppets if the OP wants to alleviate suspicion and continue as a member above reproach.
Small to medium sized town with good vibe, outdoor and good schools? What about Ottawa?
I would agree with this... I'd also look at Saskatoon as its economy is doing well right now.. Halifax has a great vibe for a bit less than 400K people and the people are awesome there.
This place is on the other side of the mountains, but it might interest you. Schools are good, community is excellent - grew from ranchers, and there are year round outdoor activities from mountain climbing to kayaking/rowing/sailing, skiing, snowboarding, some of the best soil in the country for a garden, friendly environmentally conscientious town.
