They'll only commit to that aggro' if you come at a substantial savings over a domestic hire. How would you propose this individual prove that case? ....Perhaps wear a sign "Canadian wanting out at all costs will work for 6 oz's of rice".

There are H1b cap exempt employers that don't require you to go through the lottery. Your problem with both an H1b and a TN (NAFTA) is that they are employer sponsored and if you lose your job, you have to move back to Canada even though you've signed a lease and are stuck paying on an apartment you can't live in. Also unlike the Canadian immigration system, you don't score points for having lived in the US. Nonresident tuition is very high and rent isn't cheap at the University of Hawaii.

Do you have any US citizen relatives who might sponsor you. The wait can be years, but you'll come in on an immigrant track visa, can get a green car, and live here.

Mod cut: Orphaned (quoted posts have been deleted).

I'm disappointed and ashamed of the cruel knee-jerk responses and utter lack of grace of people who call the OP a troll because they take umbrage at the OP having the audacity to want to leave Canada and go to USA. It's as if they are taking it as a personal insult and have let their troll paranoia get the better of them. It speaks ill of Canadians. I thought we were all better people than that.

To OP - you should have posted your questions more appropriately in the General U.S. forum. There it would be more relevant to your situation and you'd have gotten more helpful responses from people there.
