I owe this thread for motivating me to go through the bin of coins that have been handed down and collected ourselves in our travels and brother; what an eye opener.

I have one of these old bruisers in rough shape but all lettering and symbol legible:
Coins and Canada - 1 penny 1857 - Banks tokens

This one dated 1837 handed down:
Lower Canada 1 Penny Token 1837 LC-9A1 VF-30 | Canadian Coins

Two of these dated 1907 & 10 Mine does not have the little "H" shown below the date:

A bunch of these guys dated from 1913 to 1964:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histor...%E2%80%931970)

For giggles while digging in the bin found one of these that veteran father must have picked up over there:
German 10 Pfennig Coin From 1937 With Nazi Swastika And Eagle Stock Photo, Picture And Royalty Free Image. Pic. 33705072

Not a lot of worth to any of them but am still going through the lot collected over the years and getting surprised at the memories of travel and possession of coins from deceased parents that I had never bothered to look through.

Nice. As you say not worth a lot monetarily, but worth to guys like me who like to hold a piece of history in their hands. Imagine where that old penny has been.

I haven't seen a penny in months and months. I don't miss them at all. It was a smart move to get rid of them. In fact, I don't know anyone that bemoans the loss of the penny.

In Canada thankfully the penny is history, not so in the USA where a 2 week visit will fill your pockets with pennies.

That's ok, the massive stack of singles will mute the sound of them jingling.
