I've never heard an American being "condescending" about Canada.... I honestly don't think they give Canada very much thought. We aren't a topic that comes up often in Americans' conversation.
I will say that sometimes Canadians can be oddly insecure. Sometimes Canadians are a little too keen to compare us against other countries worldwide, and to come up with unfair conclusions. We have unique qualities. We should give ourselves more credit for those.
It's a big brother / little brother type thing. As is always the case when the little brother starts to surpass the big brother in certain ways, there is a backlash.
We have a repetitive troll that is going for some kind of record.
He/she purposely posts with a controversial style castigating one or the other of our two countries hoping to elicit an immediate response. Should those responses not satisfy his OCD required bellicosity desire he will ratchet it up until eventually, around post number 6 or so, getting banned.
We do make it very easy for him to get us going, wouldn't you agree Optimus?
I agree with what Vince said. I also agree with Bru that the OP is the repeat offender Canada troll again, back for the 4th time this week with a new name each time (who, btw, happens to be an American in NY posing as a Canadian).
If anyone just felt the earth move it was due to me agreeing with Invince on this.
So that was what that was.
I feel the same earth shaking when I agree with Botticelli...and it's happened more than once!!
