I graduated with a BA in English in 2012 (3.37 GPA) and after some post-graduation PT jobs, I have been working full-time since 2013 in various temp jobs (one went permanent) in Chicago doing office administrative and database work. I'm looking to go back for my MBA or a Master's in Marketing and I am looking at universities in both U.S. and Canada, namely Ryerson, Concordia, and U of Windsor. My question is a multi-faceted one:

- Aside from a university's offer letter, are there any further requirements for me to obtain a student visa?

- How likely are Canadian companies likely to hire me upon graduation with an MBA/Master's, given my undergrad major, past work experience, and being a U.S. citizen? It's my understanding that to get a work visa, one must have X amount of work experience in their field of study. But since English is such a broad degree, what does that mean for me (to clarify, I have utilized writing skills in some of my jobs)?

- Aside from the universities mentioned above, does anyone have recommendations for affordable schools? I know Queen's, U of T, and McGill are really good but the price tags dissuade me (though if I can get a scholarship, I'd def. be on board). Location isn't an issue, aside from the fact that I am currently without a car. I've only visited Niagara Falls and Toronto, the latter I absolutely loved.
