To the extent they practice Christianity, do they lean toward Catholicism or Protestantism?
I learned they are mostly Anglophone.

They also speak the Mohawk language which is making a comeback along with many other indigenous languages.

I believe the Christian Mohawks are predominantly Catholic. They have a recently beatified saint who was a part of their community: Saint Kateri Tekakwitha.

I believe the French brought Catholicism to the Mohawks, and they may have initially learned French. But later on when the British arrived and the Mohawks aligned with them, and eventually adopted their language. (The French were often allied with the Mohawks' enemies, like the Hurons.)

I wish them well in reviving their language but I'd say from a linguistic perspective that Mohawk is "in tough". It's one of the more endangered aboriginal languages in Canada I think.

Eternal Word Television Network broadcast a new movie about St. Kateri last night. Some of the actors were speaking Mohawk, but few of the actors were from that tribe.

TV movie 'Kateri' about Mohawk saint has few Native Americans in the cast | syracuse.com
