1. SCTV.

2. Hockey Night in Canada

All other votes are pointless.

All though I'll admit a soft spot for Heritage Minutes and Canada: A People's History

I totally forgot about Mr. Dressup, Friendly Giant and Wok with Yan. As a kid I would literally be watching Wok with Yan and wishing I was in the audience waiting for try out the food. He made it look so easy... lol.

The original degrassi shows posted above were really good. The Edison twins was another good one but the best was fraggle rock.

Another great Canadian cooking show was La Cucina Italiana con Pasquale (The Italian Kitchen with Pasquale). Pasquale always cooked with wine, and he made sure he had as much, if not more, than the dish itself. "Now, we add a little wine--and some for the chef--and we taste the sauce ... no, we need more wine in the sauce--and some more for the chef...." By the end of the show, Chef Pasquale would be halfway looped. I was never sure if the show was a cooking show or a comedy show that used the same gimmick week after week.

Another one that was noteworthy was Reach for the Top. A simple high-school quiz program, it was usually hosted by the big names in Canadian broadcasting--Jan Tennant, a CBC journalist in the 1970s, hosted for a number of years, for example. But RFTT's best known host is still hosting a quiz program today: Alex Trebek, best known for Jeopardy, got his game-show start on RFTT. But the kids were smart, and the show moved along well.

I was on that show for a number of years as a teenager. There was one team though that we could never beat for the championship. I was even part of a national all-star team that played games against celebrities.

So was I! Small world, eh? We never did too well though, but it was a lot of fun.
