I keep getting emails like this (see below). You'd think that they would do a little investigation before sending these stupid emails?

I fire off this quick reply: Thanks, but Sympatico is my internet and email provider, NOT my web page site.
Here is the number if you want to call them to help them with their web page: 310- 2355
Stop sending me these stupid emails.

Hi,

I went to your website Sympatico - Actualités | Horoscope | Vedettes & Vidéos and wanted to shoot you a quick note. If you want I can make a few changes (aesthetically and/or SEO-wise) to make your site convert more visitors into leads and to get it placed higher in the organic search for a few of the select terms.

As many as Websites do not bring business to their potential because they do not appeal to the target audience. And the reason most visitors leave a website is because of a complex design and navigation

Do let me know your Website/Software/Apps requirements, so we can discuss further on features, design themes and time estimation with cost.

Look forward to start working with you.

Kind Regards,

Maria

Why would you think this is a legitimate email? It looks typical of spam emails designed to ********* out of your money. You seem to be thinking there is a connection between your internet provider and this email based in India?

Sounds like a scam to me. ultimately they'll ask for personal info and you will end up being ripped off.
Switch to Videotron.

It does look suspicious and responding may encourage them more.

However, the India connection to service providers is real.

TELUS for instance has off shored thousands of Canadian jobs. In India they have business agents, programmers and others. So it is quite possible that you will deal with someone in India for your TELUS business needs. The difference though, is you won't see " India " on any communication with them. Just a local number for TELUS that connects you to the department overseas. They really don't like to advertise this fact, because deep down they know it looks bad for a company that has NO customers in these countries, to have employees in them.

For residential service, the country of choice is The Philippines. Anyone calling who has gotten reps in Manila can confirm this.

How did TELUS get away with off-shoring so many Canadian jobs when RBC got flack? By looking straight into the TV camera's without blinking and saying that these jobs were not going to a foreign company, but to
TELUS International.

TELUS International was created solely for optics when they off shored the jobs. The employees who work at
TELUS International are NOT TELUS employee, are paid well for their country, but poorly by ours..about four hundred a month. They do not get the same benefits, if any, work longer hours, and of course are NOT covered by Canadian labour laws.

TELUS' " We Give Where We Live " campaign is hypocritical. The MILLIONS of dollars in taxes that the former Canadian jobs paid into our coffers are gone.

Rant over LOL

It can be embarrassing sometimes when think you are speaking to someone in India and they are actually in Brampton.

No kidding! lol

I know these are just scams, but they are still irritating. I just don't understand why they send emails out without even checking to see if it is an internet provider they are sending them to. It is really quite stupid IMO.
