Sad news. They're doing one last tour before the ultimate finale.
I haven't been a Hip fan for a number of years, but their impact in the Canadian music scene, and the huge part that they've played in the soundtrack of so many people's lives cannot be understated.
Its tragic news but at the very least Gord and his family/friends have an opportunity to spend quality time together. Some are not given that chance. One thing is for sure, news like this always reminds that its important to appreciate every moment of life with those you love and who love you and make the most of it. Some things don't make way regardless of how successful or wealthy someone is.
Anyone going to the concert? I could not get tickets at any of the presales or today so unless I change my mind and am I willing to get it from a 3rd party I am not going. In some ways I think it is pretty cool that he is willing to go on tour one last time, but in another way it seems really odd (ex is this really the way you want to spend the last parts of your life? Going on tour can be really physically demanding based on what I have heard, but he clearly must love what he does. I also was feeling a bit odd about the whole mad rush on people wanting to see this dying man play his last show and lets face it a huge percentage of those tickets are going to be sold by 3rd parties at a huge mark up.
