9 to 10 hours distant is St John New Brunswick or Fredericton NB.
Montreal would be the closest if the French Language isnt going to be a problem with the transfer...Ottawa is 2 hours further NW of Montreal.
How long is this long distance relationship going to last? as you will be doing a lot of traveling to maintain it, the thought of driving 6-8 hours 2 times every weekend is going to get old real fast or its going to get mighty expensive if flying..,ultimately some ones going to have to make the big move either to Canada or the USA.
What are the arrangements at the moment?,any possibility your significant other can be relocated closer to NYC or Boston area?.

The easiest route would be Rt 87 up to Montreal.
