Smile Closest cities (towns) in Canada to reach Ct (USA)

Hi everybody! I will be moving in Norwalk CT in few months while my partner will be relocated somewhere in Canada.

Do you have any suggestion on where to be relocated in Canada? We'd love the closest city to the borders. Ontario area or Montreal?

Many thanks for helping us

Montreal is probably the closest major Canadian city to Norwalk at 6 hours away.

Montreal is closer but if you prefer a primarily an English speaking community, Ottawa would be the better option. A farther commute to Norwalk for sure.

Sherbrooke is techincally, the closest metro area to Norwalk.
But it's not that bilingual, like Montreal anyway.

Since Connecticut doesn't border Canada, as you can see in this map
Map of Connecticut, Connecticut Map
and Norwalk is at the southern end of Connecticut, you'll have to go north through the state of CT and whatever other state is between CT and your focus Canada city.

This map is also helpful -- it's a PDF; where it says 82.2% click on the down arrow and select 150% or more to see all the details clearly.

This map shows the relationship between Montreal or Toronto and New York City (near Norwalk in this scale) --
Map of North America

Mapquest.com is really helpful. And you can Google for any map you want.
