A couple of days ago, a general text was sent to all tenants. Make sure cheques are deposited for first or e filed. For the last year I post date for 3 months, no issues. Im good till October. I have a text, don't know if general to others. Its polite, something like are you paying your rent ? I respond, did you get my September and October cheques ? She responds immediately check if I put them aside. Then gave her dates of a trip when I will be away. She responds with okay. Do you think text was for me, is it a game to evict ? Some tenants don't like me, manager has never said anything to me. Responses please !

Your bank should have electronic copies of your cashed cheques. Do you do online banking? You should be able to view your banking records, and it should show on record that your cheques were cashed.

The bank still keeps electronic records. Your landlord (or the property manager, if there is one) has to take the cheques to the bank in order to cash or to deposit them. At that point, the bank cancels the cheque with a stamp and scans an electronic copy into their system for their records, and your bank account would show a withdrawal with the number of the cancelled cheque beside it to show when it was cashed, and on which date. Go to the bank and just ask them to see your September account statement. The cancelled cheque should show up as cashed.

Does your landlord not send you receipts for payment of rent for each month? They should be giving you a receipt.

My landlords never got a DIME from me until I had a receipt in my other hand.
