News Talk 610 CKTB :: BREAKING: Shocking video of St.Catharines vet :: News - Article

Four former employees of a St. Catharines veterinary hospital are speaking out about their former employer, saying a veterinarian who choked and hit the animals in his care received a “slap on the wrist” for his actions.

Dr. Mahavir Singh Rekhi, who practices at Skyway Animal Hospital on Welland Avenue, has been suspended for ten months after being found guilty of professional misconduct by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) this summer.

one video, Rekhi can be seen picking up a cat under anesthetic, swinging it around and letting its limp body slam up against the side of a cupboard.

There is a special place in the afterlife for a POS like this so-called vet.

I believe karma will bite him, big time, and I can't think of another so-called humanoid who is more deserving.

Refused to read the article. Cruelty towards animals angers me too much.

What sickens me as much as the vet's actions is the sentence he was given. He should have had his licence suspended permanently, nor should he be allowed to own animals. Can you imagine being an owner of the one of these pets, and seeing what he was doing on the videos? He also should have been sentenced to have a psychiatric evaluation...something is seriously wrong with this person. Personally I haven't watched the video(s), but the description I heard on the radio from one of his former vet techs was horrific enough.

The CVO should be taken to task over this; at the very least a petition started to demonstrate the public's extreme anger over the decision, which has equated to nothing more than a light tap on the wrist.

I heard an interview on 610 with one of his former employees. Hopefully no one takes their pets to him ever again.

10 months is such a short time. 4 month is is even worse, as if taking a few seminars would change him. He should never practice again. He shouldn't work with animals at all.
