The only reason Saskatchewan doesn't have DST is because they are on the western edge of their time zone so the sun already sets late there in summer.

If there was no DST the sun would rise in the summer at 4:00AM along the US east coast and set at 7:30PM. Is that what people really want? Not likely. If there was year-long DST then the sun wouldn't rise in the winter in much of the Great Lakes region until 9:00AM. Again, not something we would want.

For people who keep saying we need to get rid of it they need to actually realize what would happen...guaranteed there would be way more complaints afterward.

I would be happier if we ditched standard time and changed to daylight savings time and kept it permanently.

Daylight Savings is absolutely useless. It should definitely get discontinued.

Opposite here, sort of....

I think we should stay on Daylight Savings Time all year long!

We're now on it from early march to early November,
why not all year, then sunsets in southern Ontario would be
at almost 6pm even in late December.

That's fine. As long as we don't have to keep changing clocks. I would like it if they kept it at daylight savings time too, but keep it at that time for good.
