So I am an international student from the US and I am interested in both of these Canadians schools for undergrad.

I know they are both quite respected internationally and within Canada, so my question is what can I expect from these campuses from a cultural and demographic standpoint?

I have heard Toronto is very cosmopolitan and almost New York-esque while Vancouver is very outdoorsy and somewhat insular, but in my experience the university within a city can vary greatly from the culture of the city itself. What do the students here do for fun, what places do they come from (what Canadian provinces and international locations?), and how friendly are the students in your opinion?

As a bonus, I am quite left leaning politically and am marijuana friendly. Which city would accomodate that better? And Is legal marijuana making any headway in Canada btw?

Toronto University is full of Marxist professors, so you will feel at home there... Take gender studies and social justice programs and you will be pleasantly surprised
