Yea he talking about the typology too.

Say Mississauga population have 750,000

That say Mississauga has 6 Kmart stores a US city will have 10 to 15. Say Mississauga have 3 Costco stores in US have 8, say 4 Best Buy stores, US have 8 to 10, say 4 book stores, US city will have 10, say 5 target stores, US city have 10.

Take the stores name and double it or triple it.

Have you been at a Walmart store lately?? If you know what to buy actually they have some good/decent stuff
See off the bat our standards are very different. In my opinion sears does sell garbage clothes, fashion accessories and jewelery. It is also way over prices for the quality. This is also based on a Toronto perspective where there is lots of shopping options and higher end retail is common. So why buy something at sears when I could wait for a sale at a better quality designer brand or buy a re-sail items that is 100% better quality for the same price if not cheaper.

If I want to buy tools or household .... I can still find better value and quality in the city.

I think most US stores and stores in Canada are being put out of business with big box stores.

The small store front and small stores in plazas are being put out of business by the big box stores.

My standard are the same as yours...simply your accusation that Sears sell garbage is totally false...they sell familiar brand items also with the occasional a bit higher end item...plus the tools, etc...and they do sell high end tools.

I agree that I can often find the same item cheaper somewhere else or online (however Sears has sale events too)....that does not mean Sears sell low quality items at all....

Actually at the low end, actually American stores are often noticeably better (more range of products) than the Canadian counterpart...the Canadian Walmart I visited in some cases seem like dollar stores compared to the US...and sometimes significant higher prices for the same item.

I did not realized you were a woman..I apologize and I do not follow the women fashion world....but I'm anal when it comes to details like stitching and clothes quality.

I never shopped in Toronto but I find hard to believe that the experience in general is better than a comparable US city.

All I know is that when the exchange rate is favorable, Canadians from BC flock to Seattle to shop from Walmart to Nordstrom.

Toronto is more like New York city where people spend lot of money on clothes, jewellery, high end clothes and fashion, like they are going to a business meeting or dining at the best restaurant. Out side of Toronto in the suburbs people dress really casual.

Vancouver is more simpler to Portland, liberal tree huger/mountain climber type, dress more casual than people in Toronto. I was shocked when I was in Vancouver how popular leggings are there.

So people going into US to buy clothes are probably Canadian's just not many from Toronto.

Toronto is really special and not really typical of Canadian people.

Nope, Sears is crap. And US Walmarts too. I'm with you KLM. This is probably a woman shopping vs. man shopping thing and we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I do agree that there is more selection and a bigger range of products in the US. However, things are changing in Toronto at least. On my last trip I was pleasantly surprised when shopping in the city. Lots of US companies have moved in, alongside all the Canadian brands, bringing more diversity.

Is not Canada fault per se....shopping in the US is just cheaper than pretty much anywhere else.
Shopping in the US isn't just cheaper than pretty much anywhere else. Groceries are at least 2x - 3x as expensive as over here where I live. Relatives of mine have been to Canada and also said it is the most expensive place they have ever seen and that they found the US to be cheaper but that doesn't make the US cheap compared to other countries. It is a very high col country on a global scale even though it is cheaper than Canada.

You need to know how to shop...obviously you will not find high end clothing at Walmart....

You want to talk about high end?? Well even in that case there are more choices, in general, in the US...

If Walmart is crap (which in many cases it is) Canada Walmart is even crappier.

All you say is "is crap" without being specific....Canadians, in general, have no higher quality standards than US in general...
