I do think that *some* Americans are concerned about the direction Trump will take their country. And they do have some reason to be worried.

But generally speaking, in contemporary political systems, the "change" brought to countries by their heads of government is usually quite gradual and subtle. Some would even say insidious.

As most Americans aren't waiting on relatives in Yemen to make a family reunion in Chicago, or actively involved in Planned Parenthood, the true lasting effects of a Trump presidency are still a long way off for most people.

On the other hand, more than 500,000 Americans who weren't working before Trump was elected are now working. That's what a lot of people (especially those 500k and their families) will focus on.

Some of their presented "Fact" are pathetic. An illegal immigrant who actually has a criminal record got deported, Yes, HOW SAD! He or she lived in the US for 20 years with 3 children as US citizens or whatever, yet the media choose to depict how much pain it caused the family, when the government is just doing its job, or what previous government failed to do.

Seriously, is there anything morally wrong with deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records? How many years they lived in the country or how many children they have are completely irrelevant.

Additionally, the constant and intentionally illogical association of deporting illegal immigrants with sensational words such as "racism", "hate", "division" is completely out of control.

Do we honestly think the Obama-era America was not divided? The rich vs. poor, white vs. black? Not to mention the large scale suffering Obama's wars caused elsewhere. Yet the media refuses to make a big fuss over that. But when it comes to Trump, all of a sudden, every word, every tweet is subject to scrutiny.

The US is fine. Canadians should rest in peace. The only ones who are affected are those who shouldn't be in the US in the first place. Women, LGBT? don't kid me, they will all be just fine like before.
Well the media isn't exactly the picture of objectivity and integrity I completely agree! That said let's be real here - Trump and his administration has given them MORE than enough ammo to question his policies and actions.

Tweeting that the former President wiretapped your phone on twitter with ZERO evidence can't be blamed whatsoever on the media. The same FBI Director that helped tank Clinton said that those allegations are essentially baseless. So blaming the media over Trumps idiocy is a scapegoat that you can't expect a thinking person to rationally dismiss. Shooting down a Jewish reporters valid question about what to do in the rise in anti-Semitic attacks in the nation and some how answering as if the question is about you is just completely nonsensical, insensitive and egotistical. There are so many examples of this lunacy that it is amazing people are simply becoming desensitized to it. This guy is supposed to be uniting the nation is doing a great job of whipping things into a frenzy and largely and completely unnecessarily. Accountability for not only what he does, but also the utter carelessness of what he says is definitely in order, so it is right for not only the media but also the American public and her institutions to hold this unstable fellow to account.

As for Trumps policies as they impact a variety of social groups - give him and his Supreme Court picks some time there. We can revisit this In the future but I think its fair to say that social policy in the U.S isn't moving in the progressive direction with Trump and his Cabinet/Judiciary picks. As for Canada resting fine I would agree with you in that he isn't our leader. That said, a lot of our friends are not resting fine down south at all if you talk to them and simply blaming the media for their concerns/hysteria is insaulting to them. Trump won the election fair and square but right now his support is the lowest of any President so early into their mandate in a looooong time.. A much larger majority aren't happy with him as those who are so as in any democracy, these people have every right to make that known.
