Hi - I want to purchase a cell phone plan for an elderly relative in Toronto, but none of the providers seem to allow ordering/paying from the USA. While I could set him up with a T-Mobile account/number for $20 more a month, it'll get cut off due to most usage being done outside the USA.
Suggestions? Options? I'm trying to make this entirely seamless for him, which means not having him purchase a SIM card in a store, set up the bill in his name, etc.
Try Petro-Canada Mobile. They have pre-paid SIM cards and plans that can be ordered over the internet. The SIM card should be able to be delivered directly to them.

Thanks, just checked it out. As with others you can't enter anything other than a province for billing.

Will it let you put in the other billing information correctly?
I ask this because when I was still living in Quebec, I wanted to order something online for my imminent move to Ontario. I had it shipped to my cousin in Ottawa and, for the billing address, I put in all the correct information so that it would match my credit card info, but instead of QC in the province field, I put ON. The purchase went through.
Well, from what I know, if you have an account in USA, you can use the service in Canada without additional charge base on your plan. The $20 a month is possible if the number is tied to a family plan, which mean someone has to have an active family plan account in USA.

Yes but the TOS states primary use (50%+ seems to be the measure) needs to be in the US. Although his use would be minimal it would be nearly exclusively in Canada.
