Default Health Care in Canada..

Hello everyone. I am just curious as to so many versions I have heard about the health care in Canada. I live in Alaska and we don't have that type of a program here in the U.S. unless one receives welfare. Is it true that you have to wait months to get a Dr's appt., even if you require heart surgery, or have to wait your turn for cancer treatments?

I've heard some real horror stories that this type of health care with the government running it and residents not paying for it, just doesn't work.

My neighbor is originally from England and she brags about the type of healthcare they have there which I hear is similar to Canada's.

Just curious as to what you folks think. Thanks and all have a great day. Looking forward to Spring in Alaska!
