No offense intended but any unknown person online saying the APhA does no such thing without producing evidence of it isn't good enough. If you have evidence that it is the FDA/DEA that establishes these principles of practice for pharmaceutical care please produce your evidence. Thanks.

i never said FDA/DEA establish practices either. they are regulatory agencies. FDA approves drugs for use, DEA is mainly known for their remit regarding controlled substances.

APhA is a toothless organization that promotes the profession of pharmacy. they may weigh in from time to time on clinical practice guidelines but they are certainly not the leader in this regard and you'd be hard pressed to find a pharmacist in the US who could identify any guideline developed by APhA. ASHP would be better known and have more clinical relevance.

the decision of the pharmacist in this scenario was not based on anything from APhA.
