I believe that Quebec's would not be as bad as Mississippi. It might be easier to adapt to it if one is born there and grows up with it but I don't think somebody from the north who is acclimated even to Quebec's humidity could easily adjust and adapt to what it's like in the south around Mississippi.

I once fantasized about a cowboy on a white horse....

The difference is mostly in the frequency and duration of the hot spells, not necessarily in their intensity. I've spent time in the summer in the SE US and it's never really occurred to me "OMG I've never felt anything like this", because that type of heat also is experienced where I live, with some regularily. Just not as often as in the SE US.

It's not the same as if Mouldy came to visit me in the winter and the windchill was -40, or the snowbanks were taller than an adult male. I suspect he's never experienced something like that in Mississippi.

The record highs for Ontario and Quebec are in the 41-42C range so around 105F I think. That's just a few degrees off the record highs for most of the SE US states.

Southern Ontario and southern Quebec generally experience a number of days every summer where it feels like the mid to upper 40s C, sometimes pushing close to 50C. That's in the 120F range.

I know what I'm talking about as I bike to work most of the time in the summer and keep an eye on the temperature so I don't get dehydrated.

Hahaha. That was my fantasy!

I was the one with the white horse as a teenager. A white Arabian mare. Called - ta da - Misty! (I didn't name her though. She came with that name.). But no cowboys in this area. I was pretty much the only one with a horse. Alas. On hot summer nights (no air conditioning) I used to go out to the pasture and lie back on her and look at the stars. Too hot to sleep.

Also, the woman’s parents don’t speak English and the man’s parents don’t speak French. Hilarity ensues when the woman and her parents eat turnip greens, candied sweet potatoes, and pinto beans for the first time!

All that's missing is a picture of netwit (back then or today - doesn't matter) in order for the image to be complete!
