I don't remember him personally. I know he came to Winnipeg but I'm not sure if I was born then. My husband met him somewhere at some time and didn't think much of the man. Did Catholics support him? I had the impression that the whole born-again thing was not appealing to Catholics and that Graham would be anti-Catholic as well.
I remember him. He was a contemptible fear monger and war monger who preached hell-fire and brimstone and lived far too long. Good riddance to him, I hope his legacy crashes and burns.
Any kind of shill is a trickster and swindler. An "evangelical" shill is a swindler and accomplice of evil who is acting under the guise of someone who claims to be a voice and ear of God. The evangelical shill often preaches salvation and redemption through fear and demands of gifts of money from the kinds of insecure believers who are gullible and easily frightened. That is the kind of shill that he was.
Many so-called "great" men have achieved positions of power, great wealth and control of the masses by inspiring fear and shame in the hearts of innocent people. That does not mean they are actually great men, it does mean their victims have allowed them to have power over them by believing they are in the presence of greatness.
