That a pretty slim connection. Tons of American actors work and have lived in Canada. I guess if they lived here for years, that may count more.

I thought this thread was about how many famous Americans have Canadian roots and not Americans creating Canadian roots?

“Buffalo Bill” Cody’s father was Canadian, and the young Bill lived in Canada a few years as a child.

I don’t guess there was a wave of English Canadian migration to the US.

Raymond Burr (Perry Mason and Ironside TV series) came from New Westminster, BC.

I meant no wave of English Canadians to the United States like a wave of Irish or Italians to the United States.

There has been a slow but steady trickle for the past 150 years or more.

Keep in mind that in the early days of both countries Anglo-Canadians and white Americans were fairly conflated with people moving back and forth across the border.

This has slowed over time but was still quite noticeable as recently as the early 60s.

Kiefer Sutherland was born in London, England in 1966 but grew up also in Toronto.
Every one of these cases is different. But they're all arguably Canadians to some degree except for Tom Cruise. He just lived for 2-3 years in Ottawa while his father had a contract with DND.

BTW Jason Priestley who was mentioned earlier is definitely Canadian, even if his career isn't.
