I'm asking about Canada. I am sure many would LOVE to taser someone, but you would think it would make the news here. I'm really curious.

It's almost certainly happened. The matter probably just stayed between the culprit and the victim.

Organized crime people in particular don't run to the police and hospitals when they are victimized by violence.

" it almost certainly happened " ?

Kind of like, it could have so it must have?

Sorry Acajack, I don't think that settles it for me.

Your point means that in EVERY case in Canada where this MIGHT have happened, that it stayed secret.

The odds???

Surely there must be at least ONE case that is known?

That's all I'm asking.

You do know, that I am playing the devil's advocate here ? I'm in a debating kind of mood.

After I finished banging my head on the wall from trying to follow your reasoning, I just stumbled over to my tablet and called upon our trusty friend named google.

I googled "Illegal Stun gun attack Canada" and the first hit was a story from this year:

Then after the search "Illegal stun guns Canada"

I know, I know devils advocate but what the f*ck man, lol.

Ah. No, I don't. I have not run across it in the course of doing legal research, though I am aware of the matters that Edward mentioned, mostly from watching the news.

Stun guns are not tasers.

...but thanks for finding those stories.

What Spuzzy found was interesting. I guess the reason I couldn't find those stories is because I am looking for taser stories, not stun guns.

Tasers are just not popular for civilian use (or misuse, as the case may be). People looking for less-than-lethal self-defense weapons seem to gravitate to the much more simple and practical sprays and stun guns.

Tasers just seem awkward to me, plus you have to have good aim.
