I do. Owned by Steinberg supermarkets. I think it was the first K-mart-type store I ever shopped at. I think open Sunday, as early as 1962. Mine was somewhere around Pie IX and Jean Talon, just outside city limits. There was a Perrettes Dairy nearby, selling milk at a price that would be illegal in the city. 51c for three quarts in glass jug with deposit.

Defunked? You mean they banned sales of records by Stevie Wonder?

Maybe he meant that the Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Steven C. Funk, was banned from the department store - therefore the store was defunked.

Or maybe he meant defunct and his auto-correct was auto-wrong and it auto-wronged his spelling.

PS - I've never heard of Miracle Mart.

Oh, no, they allowed Stevie Wonder's records. He was pretty harmless, and "Songs in the Key of Life" was pretty positive.

What they did not allow were records by George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Remember "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)"? Sounds kinda violent to me.

I remember Miracle Food Marts, which were supermarkets owned by Steinberg, but not K-mart-style department-store Miracle Marts. Maybe they were only in Quebec?

For that matter, does anybody outside of the Greater Toronto Area remember Consumers' Distributing, Bi-Way, Towers, or Bargain Harold's department stores?

I remember Miracle Mart. The one closest to me was located in the West Island Mall (now Galeries des Sources) in Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec. It opened in 1966, I believe.

I do and I also remember Steinberg supermarkets. I remember also a time we got Dominion supermarkets in Quebec until they sold them to Provigo in the early 1980s.
