Where would you look for data on per capita transit usage for urban areas? (calculation)

This one's specifically for small cities, but the data being used also applies for all urban (urbanized) area down to a certain size (50K and above). I was wondering what the equivalent database would be where it lists the agencies and ridership as well as the urban area so a per capita calculation could be made.
I suspect that Canadian urban area would probably constitute half the top ten list if this was a Northern America list, but it'd be neat to see the data.
Having a hard time finding a similar dataset for Canada but I did find this. I think it only applies to cities as opposed to urban areas. Might help answer what you are asking but on a basic level. If I find anything else, I'll post or hopefully another CAD poster finds something more detailed.
