I already subscribe to a forum on here dealing with cell phones and technology but its exclusively about the US market.

I was wondering if any other Canadian members of this website had any experiences, they would love to share about dealing with the Canadian providers?

I am a Rogers customer, have been for decades, initially for TV, the internet now cell phones.
I currently have a 25 GB/$45 per month data plan that far exceeds my needs, since working from home means I can use my wifi I simply don't need much data but trying to find a smaller (cheaper) plan is difficult.

Anyone have any suggestions on smaller data plans available to Canadian subscribers.

Check Koodo's ( part of TELUS ) starter plans. $15 per month but only 250mb of data, and only 100 minutes of calling within Canada and only 3 G service. Bare bones, but it might suit you. Trouble is as soon as you go over your allotted data, you pay through the nose.

As soon as you go one tier up in plans, the cost becomes $35 per month, with only 3G of data, but unlimited calling.

Frankly what you have now sounds pretty good for a Canadian plan. Ya, I'm one who thinks we are being shortchanged on plans here, compared to other countries.

thanks I have been shopping around past few days and I realize what i have is pretty good by Canadian standards $ wise, it's just a shame that I will never get close to 25 GB a month. Going to explore shared data plans with one of my kids may be a way to do it

Canadians have the worse choices when it comes to cellular and internet. What we need is a big US company to come in and throw their competitive rates into the mix.

I don't know how much data you use per month, but Freedom has a few "low data" deals... basically XXXX Gigs per year thingy. I think they have a few boxing day deals on now... look at Redflagdeals.
