These are not isolated cases. I guess this what is what some one refered to as "bringing more money to the table"?

Smuggler of $12M in cocaine 'abused this country's hospitality': Judge

Jugrapreet Singh was nabbed at the Windsor border with almost 100 kilograms of cocaine after being investigated by Brantford police......

The 24-year-old will almost certainly be deported after his 10 1/2-year sentence, handed down in Superior Court on Wednesday.

Singh pleaded guilty to importing drugs into Canada and, through a Punjabi interpreter, apologized, promising he won’t repeat his mistakes and will move forward “very carefully, keeping the laws in mind.”

But Superior Court Justice Harrison Arrell said Singh “abused this country’s hospitality” after coming from India on a student visa.

If student visas don't work, try transactional marriages.

Quote:
Transactional marriages help fuel surging Punjab exodus to Canada: study
Ersatz marriages to qualified English speakers a symptom of a surging migration that a new study warns could wreak havoc on Punjab

“Need IELTS clear graduated girl for Canada paper marriage all expenses by boy side,” reads one ad on a Facebook page dedicated to the trend, referencing an acronym for the International English Language Testing System.

Not directly related to students but I didn't want to open a seperate thread.

So the goverment finally acted on this. The privilege was being abused big time. I don't even know why Trudeau lifted visa requirement for Mexicans in the first place. Made no sense. How much does Canada have to spend on each individual refugee claim? The average Mexican is not a refugee but an economic migrant.

Quote:

Canada is about to bring back visa requirements for Mexican nationals, a senior government source has told CBC Radio-Canada. The measure is intended to curb the number of asylum claims and prevent Mexican nationals from using Canada as a back door to enter the U.S.
