Default Camping in Nova Scotia

I am curious about bugs in Nova Scotia. The Northeastern US and Canada can be quite buggy at times. Some years and months are worse than others. I am looking to spend some time camping in Nova Scotia and wonder about, how bad are they? Which months are better than others? Or because of it's proximity to the coast are they less an issue than the Mainland and interior regions of the US and Canada? Any experiences?

You know, I don't have any idea but it's a fantastic question and I'm curious about the answer myself! I'm looking to relocate to NS in a few years, and the bugs here in CT drive me batty.

My husband and i camped near Cheticamp (Cape Breton), Nova Scotia last year. No pesky flies and the weather in late sept/early oct was fantastic.
