Default What to do visiting one day in Calgary and one day in Edmonton?

We are driving up I-15 from the US to Calgary and Edmonton this weekend and would love to know of any ideas on this we "must" or should see when visiting both cities. We will be in Calgary for about two days and Edmonton for one. We have never been before, but are looking forward to it and would just like to some ideas.

I actually would prefer to know of the tourist attractions few people see, things in downtown or things not often talked about, but would also like to know of some things that most people all go to or know of

The one thing I know of is the mall in Edmonton, unless you have anything great to add to that, you don't need to mention it, we are already planning on going in.

Thanks!

Cut through Calgary, go to Banff, spend the night, drive to Jasper, spend the night.

Much better than either option.

And WEM, it's just a big mall...from 1984. Whyte Ave and the river valley are infinitely better.

Calgary, the Glenbow is a decent museum, and Stephen Ave is nice, Eau Claire area is nice to hang around if the weather is good. There's Heritage Park, but do the Mountains instead. Way better than bombing up the QE2 for 21/2 hours.
