Montreal vs New York city? (buy, subdivision, vs.)

Which one would u prefer? I would prefer Montreal overall.

My reason is that Montreal is smaller, less noisy and more contained. However, it still has a lot of cultural activities and its not like someone will more likely get bored in montreal than nyc. I dont really know whats bad about montreal. Does anyone have anything bad to say about montreal?

what is a nice city and what is a nice subdivision? Also, a nice subdivision of what?

Well, the question is which would you prefer, so I guess to just stick to that, both cities are so vastly different in size and cultural experience, that I guess it would depend on what I was looking for.
How about this:

If it's winter, I'd much prefer to be in NYC

...if it's summer, I'd much rather be in Montreal

If its winter i would still rather be in montreal. extremely cold winters seem interesting.

Montreal vs. NYC? Apples and Oranges! True, both cities like to party, appreciate art, and have a diverse set of inhabitants (NYC slightly more so).

But consider this: Montreal is A TON more affordable and English is not the lingua franca. Montreal is also a lot more relaxed about alcohol and pot, which generally means more laid back. Good contemporary music (especially Jazz and Hip Hop) is way better in NYC, classical more so in MTL. You can buy hotdogs on the street in NYC but not in MTL. NYC still has baseball, MTL gave it up. Finally, NYC is a financial goliath, so people rush a lot more there, I've noticed, than in MTL; pace of life is slower in the latter. Oh, and we love us our sexy time in Montreal.

But both cities are wonderful owing to a mix of peoples, rich and less rich, of whom most are for better or worse very expressive individuals.
