Default Is there diversity in the Canadian military?

Hello,

I want to know if there is any ethnic-diversity in the Canadian military? In the the U.S. there's plenty of people of different racial backgrounds in their military. I want to know if there's people of different races in the Canadian military, though for some reason I really doubt it.

Thank you.

It contains only about eight people nowadays, two of whom are French Canadian, so probably not much diversity is possible beyond that. They are all very loyal, well-trained and brave; there just aren't very many of them. Five are in the land component, two are the pilot and ground crew of a small plane, and one patrols the Maritime coast in a speedboat. (It was too expensive to afford a boat for the BC coast, so the government sold that one to Uruguay.)

Only two of the eight are armed with firearms, due to budget cuts; the rest have access to a bin of used hockey sticks in case of invasion, with which they are more skilled anyway because hockey sticks are legal in Canada and most firearms are not (unless the owner fills out a centimetre-thick stack of forms and pays the full cost for an hourly RCMP inspection of his person, premises and vehicles to ensure that no handguns, paintball guns or anti-tank HEAT rockets are present).

One of the armed soldiers is French, because, you see, when Parliament decided to reduce the Canadian military to eight people (plus four more in the Reserves), Quebec demanded a special provision mandating that one of the two armed soldiers must be from that province, or Quebec would be en désaccord and would then torpedo the agreement. Rather than trigger yet another secession referendum and/or political crisis over a fairly petty issue, the ROC caved, because it is sick of those.

I'm a 12 year vet of the American military, and knowledgable about the capabilities and training of other militaries in the world.
I can honestly say that lack of diversity is probably a plus for the Canadian military. The whole "diversity" thing being pushed in all the western countries is a scam, and causes alot of problems that people don't want to talk about.
Plus, Canada is not as ethnically diverse a country as the U.S., so what would make you think that Canada has or should have a "diverse" military???
Think...

Is it true that the Regiment goes by the nickname of 'Rileys'?

Has been a long time...can't really recall...never got that close to the Sgt Major. Do remember going to Camp "Niagara on the Lake" during the summer training. Have my discharge from the Canadian Army for those yrs on my wall along side of my American Army discharge and the ribbons from Korea. Steve

omg Jk you made me spit my soda on my screen lmao. Way too funny.

I have a brother in the army one in the navy and one in the airforce and yes we have diversity they have all served with other recruits from very many backgrounds.

Pardon me but Canada is a very diverse country, the only way the US is more diverse is that you have a larger population.

Yep--I don't get the "Canada is not as diverse as the states" argument. They are just as diverse and although I am not aware of percentages, I would bet they are about equal when it comes to diverstiy in the military.

What is meant by "diverse"? ...can be interpreted different ways.

I'm Hungarian and served three yrs in the Canadian Reserve Army during WW11.

Is that what your talking about?

I lived on a block where there was English/Chinese...Hungarian...Hungarian...Polish...Ukrania n...Polish...English all side by side.

These were my neighbors. The country was full of people from all over Europe. You don't find too many neighborhoods like that now days. And YES we all got along real fine with no grafitti.
