Default Montreal Drivers, Roads, and Traffic

Are Montreal drivers, roads, and traffic really worse than those of other cities in North America? Why? What could and what can be done?

If anything they are more skilled than the average North American driver. Montreal at least has sort of a "survival of the fittest" driving culture similar to Manhatten. Those who cannot cope can find alternative transportation such as taxi or subway/metro. Outside of the Windsor-Quebec City corridor Canadian driving culture and be defined as "timid" or "lethargic" for lack of a better term.
