You are probably thinking of Montmorency Falls, near Quebec City:

I would recommend going to that area not just for the falls, but for Quebec City as well, one of the most beautiful cities in North America.
In the same area as the falls (just east of Quebec City) is île d'Orléans, a very picturesque island with several old historic villages.
You won't regret travelling to this area.
