Canadian Possibly Moving Back To Canada A Lonnng Time Comin (apartment, home)

I was born in Montreal Canada, I've lived and worked in the US for over 19 years but heart was always in Canada however, life, working and teenage children kept me in the states. Now that my children are older I'm divorced, though I have one toddler I feel like now's the time to go home and rebuild and make a fresh start for myself and my daughter. Not to mention a lot of my family still live in Canada. They all live in Montreal primarily and I don't know a stitch of French though I suppose I can learn. My plan is to go to Canada and start from fresh go back to school. I may have to be on social assistance for a while but not for long as I am used to working however, I really want to focus on school to become a teacher I've always wanted to do that. I would like some feedback on the colleges in Montreal also I would like to know about the Muslim population and Muslim schools if possible for my toddler. I appreciate your feedback. Is it possible to go to Canada for say 3 weeks get an apartment and then come back to the US and move my things there I don't really want to stay with any family members while out there
