I'm planning to move from upstate NY to Canada in a year (Toronto or Victoria). I'm in the process of starting a job search, preferably in academia (college teaching, technology support). In the US you would use Monster.com or Jobs.com for IT and related fields. You would use HigherEdJobs.com or the Chronicle of Higher Education for college jobs.
I'm wondering what the important job search websites are in Canada, either for college jobs, or for generic jobs. I tried the Canadian version of Monster (Monster.ca), but I did not get many results (is it because there are fewer higher education institutions in Canada and, thus, fewer job opportunities?).
So, what websites would you recommend that are popular in Canada for job search purposes, either in academia or in the private sector?

.com and .ca doesn't matter much, most domain names point to the same place. I'd dig a little deeper than those websites though. And beware, Canadians use agencies much more, much much more, than Americans do. You'll also see almost all contract jobs, which is kind of strange considering health care is thrown in but Dental and prescriptions are not, and are considered benefits. The real reason they have so many contract jobs is that there is no such thing as EMPLOYMENT AT WILL in Canada, that means it's much harder for them to fire you up there.
