In all fairness... why would a California seeker come to the Canada forum? Even the thread title doesn't reveal Cali as a choice!
BTW, I think they are all great choices (for different reasons) and I would be happy living in any of them!

Calli is in the poll and no one voted. Some Canadians want to move there though. Like some Americans want to move to Canada.

I've only been to Toronto (several times when I Lived in Buffalo) and I loved it. I havent been to Vancouver but I want to go. My impressions are that Toronto is more urban and Vancouver may have the urbanism but also has the mountains and oceans and more nature closeby.

What difference does it make if the skies are grey and it's raining or they are grey and dry?
Seriously, Vancouver isn't much more overcast than Toronto is. We even get almost as days with precip. Nearby Buffalo, NY averages like 180 days a year with measureable precip so Toronto gets at least 160 days.
Toronto is much, much colder than Vancouver. Most winter's in Toronto will get down to at least -10 F. (-25 C) Most winters in Vancouver get down to maybe 15 F. (-10 C)
The main difference is Vancouver gets a lot more days in the 40's and 50's per year while Toronto gets a lot more days in the 70's, 80's and occaisional 90's.

I'm surprised by how lopsided this poll is so far. Vancouver is whooping TO's butt.

The main reason I'd choose to live in the Toronto area would be to be close to family.
It's not a bad city but it also doesn't thrill me.
Of those choices, I would rather live in California due to climate and the Pacific would be a little warmer there for watersports.

Given that choice, Vancouver is better. It has better weather and the people are nicer. And there are fewer of us. Toronto seems like it's too crowded full of people from everywhere BUT Canada. And the weather is horrible and nasty.
But then, I grew up in Van and I HATE it "Back East"! Awful nasty weather, awful nasty people, and then there's their attitude that they are all there is to Canada. "Canada" means "Toronto" in the eyes of the world. If I have to listen to one more stupid Torontonian tell me that "BC isn't Canada" one more time I think I will probably either scalp them or WALK back to Vancouver!
I mean, Vancouverites don't go around saying that we are "all there is to Canada." As if Toronto, or Ontario, "isn't Canada." We don't do to them what they do to us. So that makes us the better people, now doesn't it!!!

I've never heard anyone say everything outside of Toronto is not Canada. That'd be like saying "In the REAL Canada, most people learn English or French as a second language."
Until recently, I'd never really been outside of southern Ontario and assumed some of our cultural attitudes were Canadian traits, not GTA or southern Ontario traits or how I'd hardly met any French Canadians. Now that I work I've met people from all over Canada.
Actually, you might get a lot of native Ontarians to agree that Toronto isn't really Canadian anymore.
