Go up there for Carnival, or whatever they call it. That's around this time of year and excellent snuggling weather. The lumberjacks are in town, and they are reportedly "friendly" (also thick and wedge-shaped).
BTW, I have a decorator (my source for much information) who wants to date a big beardy/hairy Nebraskan (he came to the realization, long ago, though, that nobody wants to date a decorator...breaks my heart to see him so alone...but as they say, down in Cajun Land..."C'est la guerre.").
