helping girlfriend get canadian citizenship (rent, living in, relocate)

hi guys,

I am a Canadian citizen who is living in US with permanent resident. I have been in us for 5 years and must stay here, because I want a US citizenship. However my girlfriend, who is in Canada, needs a permenant resident for her career. I want to sponsor her by marrying her...however, I cant leave us for more than 6 month if i want to become a citizen...what can i do?

Forget about marrying her for the sole purpose of getting her citizen ship. I am Canadian born and raised there, but traveled to Egypt June 2009 and am here till now March 2010, and am trying to help my husband immigrate to Canada as well... From the embassy and experience till now... Marriage means absolutly nothing now when it comes to helping them come to canada...

We spoke to a lawyer, someone from forigen affairs, and the embassy here in Egypt and in Canada and the only answers we where given is either, someone from my family sponsors him.. or I have to return to Canada, work steady, rent my own place or like get a car... own something like that and then sponsor him... they said it takes somewhere up to a year to complete the process!!!

Maybe your girlfriend can relocate with you in the US??? for the time being until you get your green card then work on her citizenship????

I was in canada for 5 years with my family on refugee status and unfortunately our case was rejected.so we came respectively without any problem.we dont have any criminal record we work hard and I worked as a volunteer for calgary menonite centre.so now I am in dubai with my family.please let me know another way to come canada.we love canada.thank you.
