i am considering Victoria to be a place where i start in Canada and need your input
1-what are chances to find jobs in Victoria BC as accountant assistant / bookkeeper / clerk ,, i have bachelor of accounting and 4 years experience in my country Egypt with multinational bank ( CITI GROUP)
2-if i was not able to find such a job , will it be hard to find a casual job ( taxi driver , waiter , safe guard , cashier or some thing like that) until i study a certificate like CA / CMA
3-how safe is the city and how would people accept a Muslim migrant whose wife wear scarf?
4-is there Muslim community there involving Mosque , food stores (HALAL ) ??
5-can i found a room with kitchen and bathroom in range of CAD 700 monthly for me and my wife in a reasonable and safe place near transportation ?
In Victoria only about 2% of the population are Muslims. I don't know much about the Muslim communities on Vancouver Island (I do know there are Muslim association branches in Victoria and Nanaimo but I don't know if there are any mosques) but I think this website may help you to get more information. Please also encourage your wife to read and learn about Muslim women's activities in B.C. since Muslim women have autonomy and the right to self-government in Canada. The information will help to prepare her to feel more comfortable in her role as a contributing citizen in Canadian society. The BC Muslim Association: People
