Absurd, Anecdotal Claims of What Causes Cancer and/or Cures Cancer
Have you or your friend's mother's cousin's boyfriend's neighbor's dog's sister's owner gotten cancer by using common hygiene products? Did you or your pastor's grandma's sister-in-law's hairdresser's son's butcher cure his cancer by eating 8 oz. of broccoli sprouts before each meal?

I received a FB message a couple of weeks ago from a friend, linked to information about how pomegranate juice can cure cancer. I am not sure if I am supposed to drink it, or marinate my breast in it...it was really unclear.

It never ends. A friend, who is an RN, just sent me (unsubstantiated) information that no disease can grow or spread if you eat enough alkaline foods, including: celery, cucumber, kale, broccoli, avocado, and bell peppers. These never come with instructions. But I am pretty sure that would cause worse diarrhea than the chemo has.
Perhaps the goal is to poop the cancer cells out!

This is a bit OT, but pertinent, I think. I received a canned message from someone who seemed to have an east Indian accent, and proposing I hook up with some Christian religious group, and that they said they "knew (I was) experiencing a difficult period in my life due to health issues." I got this message on both my (private) cell and my home phone.
Boy was I mad! First of all, I'm a free thinker and against religion in all forms, and not a believer in anything supernatural. and how they get my numbers??? You talk about PO'd. man.

There is currently another thread here about how bras cause breast cancer. IMO that is irresponsible.

one of my friends (his wife has colon cancer: 7 surgeries to date) insists that stress causes cancer and that sugar feeds it - so you have to cut out all sugars. another one (he has some variety of lymphoma) found something that said mustard & jalapena pepper sandwiches would cure/reduce it - he actually ate some!!!
the first friend also insists that some guy back a number of years ago came up with a cure that barely cost anything using some device that ran on ordinary batteries, but that the AMA (or maybe it was the ACA?) had him killed and destroyed all of his notes.. because they want to keep the disease out there to make money off all the meds. <sigh>

I know for a fact that green-dyed shoelaces cause cancer. I had a second cousin, who had a maid. And that maid's cousin told her, that his third grade teacher's sister had a fiance that got cancer, on the same day he wore his new shoes with green laces.
But then I heard chelated minerals cure cancer. That came from a guy who was a customer of mine back when I worked for Burger King. His wife's sister was married to this rich guy, who was brought up in a home with a housekeeper whose brother-in-law's second cousin believed she had cancer, and took chelated minerals for six years and all her symptoms went away.
