Lately she started feeling pain just under ribcage followed with weakens and weight loss. Some basic test and ultrasound got done and there is 'something" about 33mm in diameter at head of the pancreas. Just spoke with my mom's doctor and they looking to send her to MRI for more detailed diagnosis. She is in Serbia (ex Yugoslavia ) and process there is much slower than here in US. Needles to say time is not on our side.
So far everything leads to pancreatic cancer. She is 67 years old and pretty healthy person.
We are rushing to all diagnoses done and eventually surgery to be performed.I don't know what to expect... What is chance of surviving this?

She is everything that I have.

Any advice is much appreciated...

So many variables it's hard to say. Pancreatic cancer is tough, hoping for the best.

I'm sorry about your mother. There is a lot more that can be done to treat pancreatic cancer now.

Thank you all !

MRI is scheduled for tomorrow. I spoke with her doctor and there is around 33mm mass on the head of her pancreas. She doesn't have itchy skin, pale stool, dark urine or jaundice ... Her symptoms are weight loss pain under rib cage (that is gone now). I hope for the best.

Is there a way that your mother could come to the US for treatment?

Best regards for her finding good results. My daughter's pancreas problem turned out to be pre-cancer. She did have surgery to remove part of the pancreas but all it going well after one year since surgery.

Your mother's problems may turn out to be something simple. Wishing her the best. And a hug or two for you too.
