Yvar Verhoeven was a teenager with liver cancer. Yvar had been subjected to every possible standard of care treatment and was in a state of coma when he became the first person to receive treatment with 3-bromopyruvate by Trans Arterial Catheter Embolization on a humanitarian basis by special institutionl permission.
