injured in a car accident caused by the other driver's fault.

having DEPRESSION and concussion after the car accident. unable to work. Filed a disability claim to my disability Insurance company. The disability insurance asked for a police report of the car accident. Have no idea what this is for. Should I give a police report to the disability insurance company?

Yes, they probably will not pay a claim without it. In many cases, buried deep within the policy is some clause that allows them to make a determination on the claim based on fault or something similar.

If not that, there are almost certainly provisions requiring proof of loss and/or cooperation with a claim investigation.

So, yes, if the company wants the police report give it to them.

By the way, Victoria, if you expect your disability carrier to accept that you are disabled due to "depression" you better be under treatment for depression by a mental health professional so that the condition can be well documented.

Disability carriers don't pay claims just because you SAY that you can't work.
