This is why I don't buy Medical Payments Coverage. Med Pay is separate from Liability and is paid without regard to fault.
While you might not get surcharged on your policy, it's still a claim, and it goes on your insurance record which is available to the insurance industry on CLUE.
If you need to switch insurance companies when your company has a general rate increase, you may find that the claim results in not getting the best rates.
Frankly, I prefer that my insurance company not have the option to pay when I am not at fault.
