I was going to say the same. You may find much more damage once you pull the bumper. It's happened to me on a couple different cars.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

If you have an injury claim against another driver you aren't likely to get any money until you completely recover and submit your actual bills for reimbursement.

Medical expenses aren't like bumper which has a visible damage and agreeable value. If insurers were to hand out easy money for injuries there would be many people claiming for injuries they don't have. As it is there are plenty fraudulent claims in that area.

Depends on the mechanical and body/paint abilities of the OP, and, how well you want the car fixed. I mean if the bumper damage is strictly cosmetic you could just take the money and not fix the car at all. If you don't mind what the car looks like.

One way to get reasonable body work done at a low price, but an extended schedule usually, is the body/paint shop at a local high school. Typically the work done here is actually pretty good considering you are essentially getting free labor.

If you are good with wrenches you might be able to find a good bumper in the right color in a yard, unbolt the bent one and install the straight one.

It's easy to do prep work outdoors but it's damn hard to get good painting results. Dirt, bugs, etc. tend to get into the paint.

If you get involved in painting make sure you have a proper respirator. You don't want to be breathing those fumes.

Exactly, insurance companies don't pay people for medical bills that they haven't incurred yet.

Ghost Town seems to want something for nothing. That's not how it works.
