This thread is 3 1/2 years old. OP never came back to let us know how the situation evolved or what was resolved (or wasn't resolved).

Default Report and remove her

If you suspect that this is going on, it probably is. I would immediately report it to the authorities, and get her the hell out of there. So sorry to read about this.

Sounds fishy at my grandma's place. I'm thinking if my mom wants to raise hell, then maybe I should raise hell back? Meaning if they are going to throw accusations on me I will call them up and look into this.

What say you fellow posters?

Well I don't think too much of your parents for starters. Why can't she stay with them temporarily while another group home is found. I don't care if it is on the living room couch, which sounds like she is doing at the group home.

Elder abuse is VERY COMMON.

And your comment that hopefully the guy who hit her learned his lesson.

Yes, just like the guys who beat up their wives and girlfriends and say it will never happen again.

Shame on your parents, that is what I say.

There is no reason to wait for the the abuse to escalate further. So lucky your grandmother has you

Most care homes do not slap their patients and they care for their infections. Nothings perfect in care homes, i've worked in a few but this is really bad....please do something this is serious. Don't let anyone dissuade you. Maybemove her to another town if necessary, of if she can decide this for herself.

Reporting them to the licensing is a waste of time if you ask me. A friend of mine works there. All they do is fine fine fine fine the homes and they are not even accomplishing their yearly inspections. Most of these care home inspections are now every year and a half, they are overburdened and under staffed. All they do is show up if you file a report/complaint but the follow up takes many months to actually close a case. Budget cuts. Adult protective services is the most effective alternative to getting her out fast, keep calling if need be. And make more than one report to them if need be
Why are you reviving a 3yr old thread??????
