My sympathy to all. Someday, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, you will look back on this and smile. Your FIL was doing what he did best, being himself in your home, for a month. You gritted your teeth but held back from trying to change his ways. Good for you, you should have no regrets. Try to tuck this memory away when your own children and relatives impose their standards on you when you age and prefer to do things your way.

Really sorry for your loss.

Glad he was able to have that visit at your home late last year. Good that you were able to go and visit a couple of times after he got the diagnosis.

Tough for you and your husband, that's a long life, but still too young.

I see where your FIL passed away, but I wanted to add a comment about the elderly and bathing.

My grandma didn't want to bathe because she got too cold. Elderly people's body temperature must be cooler than younger people...my neighbor's mom would sit in a blazing hot house in the summer with no air conditioning and when the kids would come in and say it was hot she was like...."I'm not hot, I'm perfectly comfortable." LOL
