Let me get one thing straight with you right now, in case there's any doubt. Not only is it at least as difficult for them as it is for you, they don't want to do it any more than you do. So why them instead of you?
Because ON AVERAGE the men make more and the women are at home anyway. So it only makes sense for the men to keep earning. Plus, wiping a butt etc., is definitely women's work. They are more compassionate and experienced at it.

Even today's militant masculine feminazis will end up doing this when mom and dad are about to die. That's just the way it works.
You mean like all those fine male nurses who wiped my mother's butt when she has been in hospitals and physical rehabilitation facilities? Are you implying that they aren't qualified to do the work they were trained for and are being paid to do? Or are they just traitors to their sex? No one pushed them into the nursing profession. And they're just as good as women at it. Or is it just their own mother's or child's butts the men shouldn't have to deal with?

I distinctly remember that you are one of the people who was on another thread advocating that we should basically abandon addicts because they are beyond help and have no one but themselves to blame for their problems, therefore you feel no sadness whatsoever if they succumb to their illnesses. So you're not only heartless, you're a sexist, too? I'm not surprised.

I guess they don't have anything else to do two days before Christmas. Heaven knows they don't have any "militant masculine feminazis" to buy gifts for. But I do hope they're sending at least one upstairs to their mothers.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm just saying there's no logical reason that generally speaking, women should be burdened more than their male siblings with the physical care of elderly parents.

And I think that any brother who doesn't pull his own weight with the elderly parents, and who just expects his sister to do it "because women are better at this than men" is a jerk.

You don't know what you're talking about. Every single person I know( at least 6 at this point) who used home health care for a male parent hired a male attendant. Nursing homes have male attendants as well as female ones. It isn't rocket science. I'll bet even you could do it.
But that would suck.

Oh dear God.

I want to make something abundantly clear to you. Women don't like changing an adult's diapers any more than a man does, and there's nothing about changing an infant's diapers that makes a woman any better at changing a full grown adult's diapers.

And every man I know can change a baby's diapers as well as a woman, so I'm pretty sure they could do as well as a woman changing an adult's diapers.

But of course they have to be willing to do so.

You might be right, but I see it everywhere, including my own family. The women just gravitate to handling the physical care. I consider it a compliment to women, not a curse or sexism. In any case, I am considered a jerk for so many other reasons that this additional one will barely be noticed.

I so wish you were right. I am cursed with being unpleasant and yet popular. And I have the mall receipts to prove it.
