My Mom recovered pretty much from the dementia or whatever it was, caused by the hospital. We were able to have normal conversations again for a week or two. Today was a confusion day because they came and took her bed and put in a hospital bed. She seemed to think they had moved her to another apartment.
I've never been sure why the dementia symptoms fluctuate so widely from one time to another.

I am so sorry and wish you well.

My husband has brain damage/mild dementia and a TBI. I have always been concerned about his how suddenly and dramatically his disorientation and dementia symptoms can flare up but his doctors say that it is normal and very common. They say that even a slight illness or change in routine or environment can bring on a flare up.

It looks like my Mom is nearing the end. They are going to start her on morphine for pain now, and other systems are breaking down. She hasn't been eating enough to maintain herself for about a week now. Up until her jaundice on Jan. 31 it was looking like she could live five more years and make 100. She wasn't on any meds. Bile duct cancer is vicious.

Do you feel a second opinion is in order? For her sake and for yours?
Whatever continues, positive thoughts to you and her and all concerned.
